High Tide

An evening of performances by Emma Dotti, Chiara Sibilla and Sabrina Zanolini. High Tide reflects on the transformation, adaptation, resistance and resilience of humankind under the strains, tensions and challenges of survival at the end of the Anthropocene. The three artists, who studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, explore the critical points of human anatomy through their performative practices.

A scientific perspective opens the discussion, questioning the claim to impose ourselves on the world in an upright position. In the background, a deafening fight exposes the risks of an all too efficient locomotion. In the half-light, a transformation of the body becomes a clumsy attempt at rebellion, trying in vain to interfere with the evolutionary process. Moving through a dynamic of cause and effect, a structure takes shape in which forms of resistance, instability and inadequacy emerge. The works conceived for Fondazione ICA Milano establish a close relationship with the place, physical and metaphorical.

I'll be performing for Sabrina Zanolini at the event.
